Internet Explorer

• PublicAccess is best viewed with Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher; this is because of specific JavaScript functionality requirements.
• Other web browsers may not support the full functionality of PublicAccess.
• If are using Internet Explorer 5.5 and the application does not appear to perform as expected, please check your browser options.
• N.B. File sizes can be large and may take a while to download.

Adobe Reader

• Documents associated with application records are normally published in .pdf format which requires a suitable viewer such as Adobe Reader to be installed on your computer.
• Early versions of Adobe Reader may not offer the full functionality required.
• Adobe Reader can be downloaded free of charge from the Adobe website: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html

• Other document types are presently limited to:
  • .rtf, .txt and (Microsift Word) .doc ~ Word.doc may require a suitable viewer or converter
  • .jpg,
  • .dwf and .dwg~ both formats should be published as .pdf

Important Changes

During the initial roll-out of PublicAccess we had anticipated publishing all correspondence relating to applications under consideration. Unfortunately, equipment failure and limited staffing resources required us to suspend this activity until January 2006. Consequently, applications published between August and November 2005 may not be updated.

All applications received during December 2005 will have the following documents published although the file appearance may vary depending upon its source of capture:

• Application Forms
• Original and revised Drawings
• Initial accompanying letter of explanation or report (if applicable)
• Decision Notice, including reasons and conditions as appropriate. We endeavour to obliterate signatures on scanned documents, including Decision Notices; some Notices however are captured from original electronic documents and do not bear a final signature.

  N.B. Important dates will still be published and you may still submit comments electronically where the overall expiry date has not passed. The officers report to the Development Control Board will still be available within the Agenda

Where earlier applications are determined after 1 December 2005, the Decision Notice, Application Form and Drawings will also be published.

We apologise for this temporary disruption and will resume publication of all relevant documentation as soon as possible.

Consultation Period

The screen tabbed "Important dates" shows dates affecting various events particularly the date neighbours were last notified of the application (or a change made to the application) and the overall expiry date, after which representations may not be submitted and an application may be determined. In certain circumstances the neighbour notification date is being extended as the decision is made or shortly thereafter implying that the application is being determined too early. This is a technical problem under investigation and we apologise for any confusion this may cause.
