The tea room and store are great services for the village, good for the community and good employers, prize winning. However, extending the hours of opening of the tea shop to 9p would change it and the peaceful church surroundings to a busy evening dining restaurant blocking/using our private drive and inhibiting/stopping private/peaceful use of our gardens/courtyard for families and pets, even dinner. It would remove in the evening the peaceful central character of the church ward of this conservation area for the village.

I object on the grounds that the late opening will cause more problems. We already have to contend with the lane being blocked by bicycles being left on the garden leaning against the wall 2/3 deep crushing all the plants. The litter that blows down the lane. I also am concerned that the late opening of the cafe will cause people to park in our lane and block us off completely. The delivery lorries already block the lane these will only become more frequent.
I am all for the shop and local employment however the infrastructure needs to be in place parking areas, litter bins. The Lane is only a single track which serves 5 houses.

The Cartshed tearoom is an excellent asset to the village for both residents and visitors. We are so lucky to have it.

As a regular visitor to both the Dabbling Duck and the Massingham Stores , what a great facility they offer to locals and surrounding villages.
The shop has evolved to provide someof the best local produce , fish and cheeses and with the extended opening hours for the shop as well as the Cartshed , where we meet friends and enjoy the amazing home made cakes and lovely local team who always welcome you .
We should be supporting all of the local shops, cafes and pubs when so many villages are losing this vital community asset as so many other villages have done .
The proposals further endorse the great business the team have built up , and the awards the business has achieved in a relatively short period of time , a great business ,and a credit to the team who provide us with such a service consistently .

One of the many reasons I chose to live in this village was because of its beautiful surroundings . The people that live here have a real sense of community and look out for each other. I encourage and support small local run businesses and applaud what they are doing for the community . However we have noticed some real changes since the opening of the cart shed tea rooms which has spoilt this for us. The private lane which runs down between the shop and the church that leads to our house is now a very busy place. Often filled with bicycles that line the wall and make it difficult to exit the lane . Obviously a lot more people often standing and queuing for the coffee shop which again blocks the lane. The increase in rubbish ie serviettes, sugar sachets and takeaway cups that blow down the lane and into the gardens also causes a problem. We now have many people that wonder down the lane with dogs thinking it's a walkway and allowing their dogs to defecate in the gardens and on the driveway / lane. The coffee shop is a great idea and the boost it has for the village is a great thing. But extending the opening hours will just make it even more troublesome for residents who live close by and whose lives are effected by this.

A great opportunity for the village and community and one which will enhance those local and in surrounding areas.

I'm really pleased to see that the village stores and coffee shop are continuing to improve. What a great thing for the village and residents. The coffee shop particularly has really brought people together. I think there are about 7 now in the team (all locals) and more in the shop which is brilliant. It's also a great place for the villagers to meet and chat.
I really believe that local businesses employing people in the community should be supported, especially one as great as the Cartshed!

Massigham Stores and The Cartshed tea rooms have had the most positive effect on the village in recent years.
Firstly the buildings themselves have been smartened up beautifully improving the look of the centre of the village no end. However, far more importantly both businesses have become a real hub for villagers and visitors alike and have justifiably won awards.
On any day you can see visitors to the village sat having coffees and chatting to residents. I've seen elderly residents in there (who in the past have been much less visible and would tend to stay at home) chatting to the lovely staff. It's a real pleasure to see.
Mark and his fantastic team are so approachable and conscientious, they keep the area looking lovely and clean and are very careful to keep the car park and driveway clear for all.
I know any new ideas and additions Mark and the team have are going to be a real bonus for the village and a benefit to all.

The use of this building as a coffee shop has already had a detrimental effect on our lives and lifestyle.
The lane is continually blocked by delivery trucks and vans, large bins, a postal van and by users of the coffee shop, whether they are queuing to use the coffee shop or the large number of parked bicycles, prams, motorbikes, and other vehicles.
Our lane is often used as a turning place by visitors to the shop and coffee shop.
Rubbish is always being blown down our lane which we must tidy.
We believe extending the opening hours will only exacerbate these and other issues and we strongly object.
