I object to the proposed planning application for a freestanding totem sign.
- At 8 metres high this would tower above the Heacham village sign and Norfolk Lavender Farm. At the gateway to a historic village, it is totally out of keeping
- At this height, and on 24 hours a day, the lit sign would intrude on the view for any surrounding residential properties, causing unwanted light pollution.
- Although clearly marked on the lighting plan for the main building application, both this totem sign, and banner were conveniently omitted from the proposed street view. I doubt any proposed landscaping would intentionally obscure the sign.

The pole is not in keeping with the local grade two listed buildings and the village sign on the opposite side of the road also it will be an ugly unessessary eye sore for the surrounding houses

The site is too small , the back up of traffic would affect the flow of traffic , detrimental to the wildlife .
Heacham is a lovely old village just not the place for a McDonald's which would cause a huge disturbance to near by residents.

Inappropriate signage for a historical part of Heacham village which over looks Caley Mill, the lavender fields & village sign to add a McDonalds site & Sign to this area is totally wrong for so many reasons that are being stated on the objections being posted on the planning applications.

A neon sign of this magnitude will have a severe detrimental impact on the character of a historical village and is completely out of character.
Much like the takeaway restaurant itself, this style of urban commercial development conflicts with the coastal village landscape and sits directly between two Grade II listed buildings and residential homes.
The introduction of a modern, towering totem sign will cause visual clutter and actively harm the setting and historical character of these designated heritage assets.
Intrusive light pollution. The proposal to illuminate this sign 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, is entirely unacceptable. The sign would stand way above the established hedgerow and fence heights of nearby residential properties and will result in severe light pollution, affecting wildlife and destroying the dark skies which residents seek by moving to this area.

This would be an absolute eyesore and is completely out of place with regards to the natural and historic surroundings

I object to the McDonalds Totem pole application. Heacham has a night sky policy and we do not want the light pollution, particularly the poor nearby residents. Ridiculous! Totally unsuitable site for a McDonalds restaurant and Totem pole. Not in keeping with the character of our lovely village whatsoever.
